Homemade Brownies Recipe

Homemade brownies are a popular dessert that doesn't have a specific nation of origin. They are a part of modern international cuisine and have been enjoyed in various countries around the world. While the exact origin is debated, brownies are often associated with American cuisine and are considered a classic American treat.

Brownies are enjoyed by people of different cultures and are not tied to a single national culinary tradition. They are versatile and have been adapted in various ways, incorporating different ingredients and flavors to suit different tastes.

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 large eggs

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

- Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, chopped nuts

**Instructions:**

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a square baking pan (8x8 inches or 9x9 inches) with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy removal.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients:

In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined and smooth.

3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Add Cocoa and Dry Ingredients:

Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.

5. Add Optional Add-Ins:

If desired, fold in chocolate chips or chopped nuts into the batter.

6. Bake:

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake, as brownies are best when slightly fudgy.

7. Cool and Serve:

Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and allow them to cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once completely cool, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the brownies out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve.

8. Optional: Dust with Powdered Sugar or Frosting

You can dust the brownies with powdered sugar or frost them with your favorite frosting for extra sweetness.

9. Enjoy!

Enjoy your homemade brownies as a delicious treat. They're great on their own or served with a scoop of ice cream.

Note: Baking times may vary depending on your oven and the size of the baking pan. It's important to monitor the brownies closely to avoid overbaking
